The Guangzhao Hydropower Station is located in the middle reaches of the Beipan River in Guizhou Province. It is a large-scale hydropower project of the "Four Waters and Six Fires" power supply point construction project approved by Guizhou's "West East Power Transmission" initiative. The installed capacity of the power station is 1040 MW, with a dam height of 200.5 meters, making it the world's tallest roller compacted concrete (RCC) gravity dam currently built. In less than three years from construction to completion, a 200 meter world-class dam was built, rewriting the record for RCC dam construction in terms of speed and quality, and creating an advanced level of dam construction in China.
Guangzhao Hydropower Station is located at the border of Qinglong County and Guanling County in Guizhou Province. It is the leading hydropower station in the cascade hydropower development of the Beipan River below Maokou, with one reservoir and five levels. It is one of the few large-scale hydropower power points in Guizhou Province with incomplete multi-year regulation performance. Design and install four mixed flow water turbine generators with a single capacity of 260000 kilowatts, with a total installed capacity of 1.04 million kilowatts and an average annual power generation of 2.754 billion kilowatt hours. This is the second batch of construction projects under the national "West East Power Transmission" initiative, with a total investment of 6.903 billion yuan.
